Limit: 100 MB at a time — single files or a folder.
Four steps. Your own Google account keeps your copies, your calendar and your documents in one place that belongs to you. How your records are kept safe →
Keep your VA records separate from your everyday email. It's free and takes two minutes. Already made one? Go to step 2.
Sign in with that Gmail. Battle Buddy makes a Battle Buddy folder in its Google Drive, with a folder for each kind of document, and puts your appointments in its Google Calendar. It can only see the folders it makes, nothing else in that account.
VA letters, decisions, medical records: single files or a whole folder. Each one is read and filed here, and a copy goes into the right folder in your Drive.
Or forward VA emails to your own Battle Buddy address. Send from your own email or your Battle Buddy Gmail and they are filed the same way:
Tap the mic and tell it what you like to be called, your appointments, your medications. It remembers.
Or just tell Battle Buddy how you slept, your pain and your mood.
Battle Buddy rewrites your chart every night.
Battle Buddy never diagnoses or changes medicine. Medicine facts come from the FDA label — your pharmacist or VA doctor is the one to ask about your own case.
Recorded the visit with Voice Memos (iPhone) or Recorder (Android)? Add the file here — Battle Buddy writes it up the same way.
Recordings and transcripts are encrypted and belong to you. Ask before you record — some offices, including VA facilities, have their own rules about recording.
Battle Buddy organizes your claim from your documents, ready for your Veterans Service Officer (VSO) to review. It never decides anything about your claim.
A draft in your own words, from your records — you read it, fix anything marked CHECK, and go over it with your VSO.
One PDF for your VSO: a cover page, your claim summary, and the documents you tick.
Sends the same packet — cover page, your claim summary and the documents you ticked above — straight into your VA claims file through the VA's own document service. Show it to your VSO first.
Your file number is used for this send only and is never saved.
Your own records, straight from the VA — only after you sign in with your VA login (Login.gov or ID.me) and say yes. Battle Buddy shows them exactly as the VA sends them.
Using Google Calendar? Connect it on Get started (step 2). Any other calendar app can subscribe to this link:
Only used to tell you how long the drive is to an appointment and when to leave. Encrypted like everything else.
From this time, Battle Buddy asks how you slept, your pain, your mood and your meds — once a day, in conversation.
Off unless you turn it on. Someone you choose gets only: a short evening note saying whether you checked in and took your medicines, and/or a note if Battle Buddy hasn't heard from you for 2 days. Never any health details. They confirm by email first and can stop any time.
